Culturelle Introduces New Probiotic Product

Culturelle has gained the number one position as the leading probiotic brand. The company has successfully expanded its probiotic portfolio. Culturelle has introduced its first product that shows capabilities of targeting metabolism, and weight management.

The new probiotic candidate displays a formulation consisting of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG added with Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. Lactis BPL1 strain. In the past, abundant research has been done on the Lactis BPL1 strain supporting its claim to have a positive impact. There is sufficient clinical evidence, and facts portraying the strain’s potential metabolic effect, and weight management benefits. Culturelle has procured the BPL1 strain from ADM, the partnered effort is considered to project robust scientific capabilities.

At present, the Culturelle Metabolism + Weight Management product is marketed throughout the United States, and Canada.Recent studies conducted by ADM indicate approximately one third of consumers have grown to be more aware of weight management. This is a sharp escalation from pre-pandemic scenario which showed 21% of the consumers to be weight conscious.

American consumers are growing fonder of health products focused on building good digestive health. Nearly 50% of the U.S. consumers are becoming aware of the gut microbiome adopting health supplements supporting healthy gut, according to June Lin, Global Vice President, ADM. Adding to this, Lin mentioned that 80% of the American consumers strongly believe in the impact of probiotics on gut health. Whereas, 71% believe in daily consumption of probiotics even if no particular health condition exists. The remaining population is also inclining towards the consumption of probiotics on a regular basis.
