Acacia Pharma Becomes a New Industry Supporter

Acacia Pharma Group plc is proud to be known as a new Industry Supporter of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). It is a hospital pharmaceutical company that focuses on developing and commercializing new products that aim to improve the care of patients undergoing significant treatments like surgery or cancer chemotherapy.

In 2010, the ASA’s Industry Supporter Program was launched to ten organizations. Companies want to stand apart by showcasing the high-level commitment to the education of physician anesthesiologists. Acacia Pharma, as an Industry Supporter it will help to establish a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with the anesthesiology community.

The company aims to strengthen collaboration between physician anesthesiologists and the industry. It wants to value the Society provides the public and patients while they were providing invaluable year-round support of the ASA programs. Through this program, Acacia will be getting unique opportunities to inform the strategic dialogue with the leaders in anesthesiology from around the world. They will be present in the major events of ASA including the ANESTHESIOLOGY annual meeting and Practice Management Conference.

Acacia has two FDA-approved anesthesiology products being launched currently in the United States. The first one is a new dopaminergic antiemetic approved for the treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting. The second one is a novel rapid on/rapid off benzodiazepine approved for procedural sedation. ASA President Beverly K. Philip, said, “We are excited to welcome Acacia Pharma as a new ASA Industry Supporter. By working with our Industry Supporters, we aim to improve perioperative care. Acacia Pharma and our members working together will strengthen the Society’s priorities of advancing the specialty through patient safety and practice initiatives.”
